SQ2 reaches 20,000 downloads + updated version and guide

Guys, you are all so awesome. Thank you so much. The press for SQ2 has been unbelievable so far. We've been featured on some big websites such as Joystiq, G4TV, Reddit, Complex and just recently the subject of Paw's latest 'Let's Play Live: which can be seen at ThatguywiththeGlasses.com. And most importantly, the fans dig it so far. We've had glowing reviews and fantastic feedback with one guy saying it was the best fangame he's ever played. Well, we worked hard on it and to get these warm comments make the whole ordeal worth it.

Space Quest II has been downloaded over 20,000 times now and the counter is still rising. We've addressed many issues that have been brought up with the game's release and now we're happy to announce version 1.1 has been released. If you already have SQ2 and don't fancy downloading the whole thing again then we've managed to cut the filesize down to a quarter in a downloadable patch. The patch is simple, open it up and find the directory. If the patch cannot find the directory just use the browse button and it will update the files you already have.

This update fixes many of the bugs and issues people were having with the original release version.  Perhaps the most significant update is that the game is now 32 bit instead of 16, which should address most video issues people were having with it.

And an update on the Mac version. It's coming, just polishing a few things up and making sure it's awesome.

So if you want to grab the latest version just head over to the SQ2 page and get questin', fools!

And the Space Quest 2 guide is now available on the SQ2 website. Just click the link above and have a look through whenever you're stuck. Or bored.

A note about version 1.1:

This update fixes many of the bugs and issues people were having with the original release version.  Perhaps the most significant update is that the game is now 32 bit instead of 16, which should address most video issues people were having with it.

We also have an SQ2 Gold version in the works with some additional fixes and a bunch of new content that was on our wishlist but didn't make the initial release.  Plenty to look forward to if you're a fan of SQ2!  Happy

In regard to the Mac version: Since on the download page there is a Mac System Requirements description, does that mean Version 1.0 *is* available for Mac, and if so can I download it still? Or do I need to wait for the Mac port?
*So excited!!!*
