Hey all, let's be serious for a moment. For those who don't know, Steven Alexander aka Blackthorne, co-founder of Infamous Adventures, is in need of a new kidney and has so since the birth of this small but awesome group back in 2004. During this time, Steve undergoes a complicated procedure called dialysis. I'm no doctor but from what Steve has told me, it's not a very nice thing to have to go through at all.

However, during that time Steven has done nothing but give to the community. We make games, we love the process of the whole thing (figuratively speaking) and we bestow them onto you, the fans because we want everyone to enjoy it without having to slap a price tag on it. And it's not because of the legalities, we'd love to charge these games at a substantial rate but we feel sharing... is caring. And plus, if you know Steven, you know he's a damned cool guy who enjoys the company of others as much as he enjoys his music.

And in that sense, I feel it's appropriate to share with you Steve-Stock. A fund-raiser set up by friends and family of Steve to rock out to live music, eat good food and socialize all for a good cause. So if it sounds like your thing or even if you can't make it, you can still give do your bit by  donating. So far, the donations have reached a massive $800! A Facebook page has been setup to promote this but for those who don't have FB the information needed is below.

STEVE-STOCK is a benefit to raise money for Steven Alexander, a 33-year-old kidney dialysis patient who is in dire need of a kidney transplant. He, aided by his loving wife Jordan, performs daily dialysis treatments at home six days a week to keep him alive as he waits for a transplant.

Dialysis is a long, complicated and dangerous procedure - it takes almost four hours a day. He has been suffering from kidney failure since he was 24 and his health is starting to deteriorate at an exponential rate.

LIVE MUSIC, food, drinks, face painting, a bake sale, and a silent auction.

The Lost Horizon
5863 Thompson Road
Syracuse, NY

Event begins at 1:00 p.m. Bands on stage beginning at 3:00 p.m.

If you cannot attend, but would like to donate to STEVE-STOCK (or if you'd simply like to donate AND attend) please visit http://goo.gl/nsPQG.

Please do our friend Steve a big favor...and invite everyone on your friend's list to this event. Spread the word. Thanks a ton!

Thank you all for the support.

DONATE LIFE!

For an excellent human being, we expect an excellent event!

Steven Alexander is quite the character, in today's world you wont run into his breed so often. Steve is a Stoic MOFO, who is willing to keep on going and to help others whenever they need it.

Donate to his cause..

DONATE LIFE.

I hope you all don't mind that I sent some emails to Kotaku and Joystiq regarding this amazing event for BT. I will be donating as soon as I can, but I felt that the greater gaming community may want to know and help out if they can.

No,  I don't mind at all!  Thank you.

In fact, some anonymous fan of IA and Space Quest 2 made a very VERY generous donation last night.  I just want to say thank you very much.  It means a lot to me and my family.

Tomorrow is Steve-Stock..... looks like it's going to be a big turnout.  I'm a little nervous!

I have to say thanks to all the IA peeps that donated, as well.  You guys really...... I'm speechless.

Making games and being a part of this community for years has been a love of mine.  To see all the good vibes come back.... I can't even put it into words.

I just can say Thank you. Thank you so much.

Just Curious how the concert went have you raised anywhere near the cost of the procedure?

Well, it was a big success - a lot of people showed up, music was played and a good amount of money was raised.  I don't have a figure on how much the procedure will cost, but what was raised will help pay for the maintenance drugs for a year.  Transplants require a lot of medication.
