Oh okay..so this one you have to buy? (just making sure it's the right one)
Couple questions before I do.. is this the same size and quality as the other KQ and SQ games I've downloaded?
Thank you!
King's Quest 7 was ok. I never cared for the changes to the interface like the 1 mouse cursor and no deaths. That combined with the cartoon graphics always turned me off about that game. It's definitely long and worth the 5 bucks on GOG.
As KuroShiro pointed out many people dislike King's Quest 8 due to the drastic differences between it and many of the earlier games. It uses an awkward 3D engine, has a good amount of combat with RPG elements thrown in and doesn't really involve the characters people had grown to love. It was an interesting experiment in adventure interfaces, but it never felt like a King's Quest game to me. Some people, BT included, have gone so far as to say looking at the game hurts their eyes. The game is probably also worth the $5 if you don't already own it though it's probably the weaker of the two in the pack.
I always support buying things you enjoy. If you enjoy the Sierra adventure series I would recommend you pick up a collectors pack. Usually you can find them around. If you buy Mask of Eternity you should do so through GOG as they have patched their version to work on newer operating systems and allow for the higher 3D settings.
So, why are we having this discussion in the SQFG Release thread?
