Upon sending their game to ActiVision for review in preparation for release, ActiVision decided to revoke the license and promptly issue a C&D. Most of the forums and the website have already been taken down. http://tsl-game.com/

It seems that the sierra rights owners are more into remakes than sequels, as space quest 7 was also closed down.

I think some of it has to do with the fact that the remakes are really just fan homages to the originals, whereas TSL and SQ7 were intending to create something totally new that added to the existing series and intellectual property. Compared to the remakes, they also had relatively much more current and relevant graphics (i.e. 3D graphics that actually required a machine with some decent hardware to run.) Admittedly, those graphics are quite dated by current generation gaming standards, but compared to the VGA remakes, I think they did represent more of a perceived "threat" to Activision's intellectual property. That said, it's important to remember that Activision doesn't endorse remakes either. AGDI doesn't have permission to produce any more games based on old Sierra properties, and though I wasn't part of the team when KQ3 was released, I'm pretty sure Infamous Adventures NEVER did to begin with.

Don't let this happen to any of your games.

We'll see what options will open in the future. Copyright laws are going to change pretty drastically soon, they have to in order to keep up with the digital age. The main thing will be if everyone can get back together in the future to work again or just to release the first part. It's hard to go back to a previous part of your life once you've moved on.

Truth. Still highly anticipating Black Mesa Source, as are Valve!

It's on a few of the gaming news sites, like The Escapist, now. Along with some other wackiness in the games industry over the last few days, it's shaping up to be one crazy week.

I hope you all sign the “Save The Silver Lining” petition: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/savetslIf you want to do more, check out the “Save TSL” website: http://savetsl.co.ccI'm especially concerned about Infamous Adventures because I loved the "King's Quest III" remake and I'm eagerly awaiting the release of "Space Quest II." Unfortunately, since it's also based on a Sierra game, it could be Activision's next victim. Thanks for supporting us!
