Well, not really. Just sending out a "get-well" to our own Zeek, who accidentally got hit IN THE HEAD with a SWORD during the closing night of his production of "Camelot!" Zeek's a talented guy who doesn't deserve a sword to the head, so send him some well wishes. He's doing fine, though, and now has seven staples in his head to prove it.
Heh, watch out for flying swords, man.

He told me about this earlier. When he was hit in the head with the sword blood spurted out over the stage giving the audience the impression it was the greatest combat ever conceived on stage. I saw the pictures too, not very nice. But awesome at the same time!

"...was it just a flesh wound?"
(ha ha) someone said that to me when I was in the hospital waiting room. I was still in my knight costume, had my sweet beard and everything, holding a big Ice Pack on my head . . . .
I'll see if I can get a picture or two up for you guys . . .
. . . hmm, I don't see any picture options for this thread . . . any helps admin's?

I think I had seven staples in my clavical when I broke it, They don't really hurt when they get taken out but it seems like it should. try humming when you get them removed. Also this totally beats me ripping the coat portion of my costume in half and tripping myself right after a stage trip as far as theatre accidents go. Still you're lucky it was closing night, did you get to go through with the bows and all or did you go straight to the hospital? I bet it's been said to you already but "You're supposed to break a leg not a skull"

Dude that sucks. But also awesome at the same time that you can say you got hit by a sword in the head! Hope you're doing ok , dude.
I knew a guy years ago that was in a motorcycle accident and had staples all up his forearm. Was quite the sight.

Ya, they only do staples in a few situations they told me, somewhere it is unlikely to be seen (the scalp) When the wounds are particularly large (probably what you saw on the forearm) and when there isn't much time for stitching (Emergencies) They leave little scarred over dots where your staple holes were that thread doesn't do as often. For my shoulder it didn't matter if they used staples or stitches because the scar was so enormous anyways that no one would notice the little holes.
Note: Just checked my vial and I had 11, I keep all the stuff that I had from surgery like metal plates and things.

Now no one can tell you that you don't go the extra mile in the name of realism! I wish you a speedy recovery, and a lifetime full of women who are impressed by battle scars!

Glad to hear you're feeling better Zeek! Have to ask, why did you get stitches, couldn't you have just taken some Healing Pills? Also, who was it that hit you?
BTW, why did my forum theme get reset?
